Who am I?

Hi, I’m Chelsea!

I write books for kids!

I say that with exclamation because when your job is your passion it’s pretty exciting. I’m also a poet and I teach creative writing to children.

I am a proud member of SCBWI, CBW-LA, the 12×12 Challenge, and I have my Masters in Education. I am represented by Jen Rofé from Andrea Brown Literary Agency.

I am a wife to Michael, a mama to Charlee & Lucky, and we reside in sunny Los Angeles.

I graduated from Colgate University in upstate New York before heading out to California. I worked in the digital marketing world for many before becoming an educator. It was when I was teaching young children creative writing that I realized I needed to take my passion seriously and pursue my dream professionally.

I’m not fully living until my toes are in the sand and I’m breathing in the sea.  The beach never gets old for me (probably because I grew up in Ann Arbor, Michigan). Brrr!

I’m an animal advocate and activist. I can’t even squish a bug.

I’m an old soul. I drench myself in Van Morrison and Joni Mitchell and feel at my core I was born in the wrong decade.

I’m left-handed, a Libra, an Xennial, and the middle child.

I’m a constant and forever daydreamer.

I’m sensitive and believe tears are brave.
